The Davy Tournelle loft has been one of the top national pigeons for several years. Since this year he has been breeding together with his Chinese friend CHENG. This year was a difficult season because the top pigeons almost always fell in the provinces of Antwerp and East Flanders. Nevertheless, Davy is not afraid of this challenge and faces the competition. During the season, father Patrick drives the pigeons at least once a week for up to 120 km. They also train once or twice a day in the loft for at least an hour. The partner always stays at home with all racing pigeons. This ensures even better motivation.

Changes for the 2024 season

“We have been feeding the pigeons in the same way for about seven years. Since everything is going well, we see no need for changes or adjustments. Most of the pigeons have partners who stay at home. It is particularly important to us that the pigeons eat well so that they can take part in a race every week. In addition to the feed mixtures, the supplementary feed is also crucial. The more the pigeons train, the better their condition becomes. On Wednesday, the old birds and yearlings always get an extra training flight of 50 to 120 km.” Then the day starts at 5:30 a.m. and father Patrick takes the pigeons to the release point for the training flight. After their return, they can stay with their partner for a short time.
