Your specialist for racing pigeons, show pigeons, poultry and rabbits
Whenever you write a report about Klaus Steinbrink, you think that next year can't get any better. But Klaus always proves us wrong. The racing year 2024 was simply outstanding! From the very first flight, everything just fit together perfectly. Klaus is a breeder who lives 365 days a year for pigeon racing and leaves nothing to chance.
The racing pigeons and the system
At his place in Wallenhorst, the racing pigeons are paired up at the end of November, just like the breeding pigeons, and raise either their own young or those laid by the breeding pigeons. After that, the intensive training begins. Since Klaus can let the pigeons out all year round, they are very quickly in top shape here. Before the season, the pigeons are also trained privately. During the season there is always a family day on Thursdays and the private training flights are only carried out sporadically. The partners are not shown when they are put in. Instead they stay together for about two hours after the flight.
The supply of Röhnfried products
The supply has not changed significantly. On the day they return home there is always Rotosal and Bt-Amin forte in the water. After that there are two days in the middle of the week where they get Blitzform with UsneGano. After that they get RO 200ready with Elektrolyt 3Plus in the last three waterings. After the flight, four meals with K+K Protein 3000 and Entrobac ensure rapid muscle regeneration and rapid intestinal stabilization.
Successes 2024
Klaus was once again able to achieve a top ten placement at association level this year. He became 8th German Association Yearling Champion. But he was also able to establish himself at the top everywhere at regional level.
In addition, there are ten first prizes on the adult flight and one first prize on the Munich regional flight (511 km).
Klaus, what do you expect for next season?
“Next year I have a very young team that has already achieved extraordinary things this year. For this reason, I am already looking forward to the new season. But until then there is still a lot of work ahead of me and my pigeons.”
Best flights 2024
Every time you talk to Klaus about pigeons or see him handling the pigeons, your own motivation for pigeon racing increases. Every fibre of the “great white shark” from Wallenhorst seems to be burning for the sport. Klaus is a tough competitor who has to be beaten in Regional Association 256, but at the same time he is also a passionate animal lover. For him, racing pigeon racing is at the highest level 365 days a year, because the breeding pigeons are paired with the racing pigeons at the end of November and the race for the next season begins.
“The racing year was really great for me. I am extremely satisfied,” Klaus answers when asked about his review of 2023. The proven lines around the “Blaue Mauritius” and the “Crack 75” produce new AS pigeons every year. This year they even made it to the supra-regional level of the Westphalia Championship. The yearling hen “59” is the fifth best yearling hen in Westphalia - in total she completed 13/13 flights with 1,146 AS points, including 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 4th, 4th and 5th prizes.
But anyone who knows Klaus knows that this pigeon is no fluke, because both the “19-86W” and the “20-537 V” achieved full prizes this year. Given the sometimes changing winds and the demanding flights, one can only take one's hat off to the performance of these animals.
Nothing has changed in terms of feeding in Wallenhorst. When Klaus is asked about the secret of his feeding, he answers: 'My mixture of Blitzform and UsneGano'. This is administered twice a week and ensures optimal health and top form. At the weekend, the pigeons receive the last three drinks of RO 200 ready over the water, together with Elektrolyt3Plus. The day after the flight, Klaus rebuilds his feathered racers by giving them four meals of K+K Protein 3000 together with Entrobac. This ensures rapid muscle regeneration after the flight and excellent intestinal health.
Klaus advises beginners to find a mentor with a proven system as soon as possible who can bring their pigeons home safely even in difficult flights. If the right system meets good pigeons in an appropriate loft, success is guaranteed.
“My goals for 2024 are to shine in the regional association. The top places at the national level also require a bit of luck. That can't be planned!”
