Ronny is a very honest and down-to-earth racing pigeon enthusiast. He doesn't believe in stories, only in good pigeons, hard work and a well-functioning system. Ronny pays attention to every detail. Diligence and punctuality are top priority here, because racing pigeons are his great passion.

The system

The racing team is kept in classic and total widowhood. During the winter, one group of females has to raise young and the other group doesn't. However, this will change next season - then the racing pigeons' partners will stay at home. Training at the house begins at the beginning of February and is increased daily. In the spring, the pigeons are given a combination of Avidress Plus and Witches' Beer in the form of a multi-day treatment via the drinking trough. This measure puts the pigeons in excellent shape and they can be trained privately for up to 50 km as early as March.

The supply program with Röhnfried

Great importance is placed on the daily supply of fresh grit mixtures. The basis for this consists of grit with anise, which is supplemented with travel mineral during the travel period and with breeding and moulting mineral during the breeding period.

As soon as the weather conditions are good, they have to go to Momignies (120 km) and from then on the distance becomes greater and greater. The pigeons have to train hard with Ronny and therefore also need high-quality feed. As soon as the distance increases, the pigeons are often given energy oil with RO 200ready in their feed. In addition, Hexenbier or Atemfrei is administered several times a week in the drinking water. Especially at the beginning, it is important that the pigeons are in good condition, and he tries to achieve this naturally with Röhnfried products. As the season progresses and especially when the temperatures rise, he likes to use Rotosal every day. In addition, they sometimes receive Blitzform for a week, which ensures another significant increase in form. On the day they return home, they always receive the combination of Bt-Amin Forte, Elektrolyt 3 Plus and Mumm in the drinking trough. In addition, the feed is always moistened with Gervit-W and dried with K+K Protein 3000.

The 2023 season brought Ronny his 3rd national victory. After the victories in Bourges against 10,111 yearlings and Tulle against 10,128 yearlings, he now also won the 1st national prize in Aurillac (696 km) and was the fastest of almost 12,000 pigeons. This victory was achieved with “OWEN” BE-22-2104005, whose pedigree includes the national winner of Bourges (E. Schepmans) and the national winner of La Souterraine against 17,017 pigeons. In short, it is a family of winners that consistently produces successful pigeons.

Changes in 2024

The group of females is divided into two: both the first and second groups are paired with the birds that stayed at home in the spring. It is a system in which one bird is paired with two females and motivated. This system has proven to be extremely successful and has already produced many top results. In the group that is set on the total widowhood system, Ronny uses the chaos system, where the birds and females can choose freely every week. However, Ronny is planning some changes here to ensure that stable pairs are formed. This is to help stimulate the pigeons' 'fire' for their cells and territory, especially in the birds.

Supply with Röhnfried

In terms of supply, Ronny uses Röhnfried products. He attaches great importance to daily fresh grit mixes. The basis is grit with anise, which is supplemented with travel mineral during the racing season and with breeding and moulting mineral during the breeding season.

During the moulting season, when the pigeons stay in the loft, they regularly receive Hessechol and Pavifac brewer's yeast over the feed, and Avidress Plus is administered daily in the drinking water.

In spring, the pigeons get into shape with a combination of Avidress and witch's beer in the drinking water. This measure gives the pigeons white noses and perfect breast meat. In March, when they are given free flight twice a day and are trained up to about 50 km, they are in good shape. As soon as the weather conditions allow, the club goes to Momignies (120 km). From then on, the distance is gradually increased.

As the distance increases, the pigeons are often given energy oil in the feed, which is dried with Ro 200 condition powder. In the beginning, Ronny also occasionally uses Hexenbier or Atemfrei in the drinking water. In the beginning, it is important that the pigeons are in good condition and he tries to achieve this naturally by using Röhnfried products. After their races, the pigeons always receive the combination of Bt-Amin forte, Elektrolyt 3Plus and Mumm. When the pairs are separated after the races, they receive a K+K Gold dragee.
