“The young flight was sensational for us. Not because of the prizes, because they were anything but good, but because of the fact that private training began with 43 pigeons and after a total of four preliminary flights, two intermediate flights and five prize flights there are still 43 pigeons in the loft. Not a single pigeon was lost.”

Preparation for the flight season went smoothly. “The pigeons were already flying for an hour after one week, so I had to use K and K protein here. There were no losses during preparation. We attach great importance to good preparation. If the weather is right, we drive privately, sometimes together with breeder friends, up to 80 km. We believe that the animals must be re-trained and trained every year.'

“The 2023 racing year was once again very successful. The flights were demanding and our pigeons were able to show their full potential. Unfortunately, the right ones for the Bavarian Championship did not come on the last flight.”

“As in previous years, the offspring of the 549 and the 005 were again very successful. But the Koopman pigeons also made an important contribution.”

Which products were particularly important to you this year and how did you use them?

“Our key products were Blitzform, Avidress and UsneGano. We use Avidress every day and UsneGano is already administered in the second drink after the flight. We always give Blitzform on Wednesdays.”

What are you planning to change for next year?

“We will not make any changes to our care. Since the pigeons are in top condition, we will stick to our tried and tested concept.”

Which flights do you particularly remember this year and why?

“The first regional flight from Bad Kreuznach was particularly impressive. Our pigeons achieved an impressive result of 34/29 and took 8th, 9th, 10th, 19th, 20th, etc. places in the competition against 4880 pigeons. Despite the headwind, our pigeons performed sensationally.'

What do you recommend to sports fans who have just started the hobby?

'We advise you to find a trustworthy sports fan and not to let others unsettle you. It is important to develop a system that you can implement consistently and to only buy pigeons from top performance pigeons. The selection should always be adapted to the performance in the loft, but you shouldn't be too lenient.'

What goals do you have for 2024?

'Our goal is a top ranking at the national level.'

'We play the classic widowhood with females. The females get to see their partner once a week. They are not shown on the day of deployment. There are no training flights during the week.'
