Last year Florian moved to Westhoek 12, where he has more space for his racing pigeons. Despite starting over, Florian managed to return to the top in no time! The strong foundation of his pigeons never made him doubt.  

This is proven by the victories in Châteauroux, Charleville, Rethel, Chalon and other successes. The old base shows its class: Little Gerard, King Kong, the Harry line are well known and are all named Jo & Florian Hendriks.

During the breeding season, they like to use Bt-Amin forte in combination with Gervit-W, which they give 14 days before mating together with Taubenfit E50. By using this combination, the pigeons reach an optimal breeding condition and their immune system is in an ideal state.

To prepare for the season, the pigeons are given witch's beer throughout March. This gives them wonderful, pink breast meat, improved blood circulation, white eyelids and noses. They simply reach a perfect basic condition. The very good training lays the foundation for top results.

Strategy and care during the season

When the pigeons come home from the race, there is always Mumm (glucose and vitamin C) in the drinking water. When temperatures rise, the dosage is increased. You quickly notice how well this product supports the birds after they return home. After they arrive, they always give Moorgold with Entrobac in their feed.  

They also like to use Gervit-WandBlitzform. But the combination of Energy Oil and RO 200ready is also a must. Depending on the weather conditions, this combination is given two to three times a week before basketing.

As with everything, the daily replenishment of minerals is another important aspect. But the treatment stone is also given regularly.

Jo and Florian have excellent material, a solid breeding base, a lot of investment, effective management and a lot of effort. All of this has led to the father-son duo Jo & Florian Hendriks becoming rising stars in pigeon breeding in a very short time. Names such as “Little Gerard,” “King Kong” and the “National Harry Line” are all renowned and inseparably linked to the name Jo & Florian Hendriks.

This year Florian has moved to another address where he takes part in the races. The space in the parents' house was limited, where only a very small group of a maximum of 16 pigeons was ever flown. Now father Jo takes care of the breeding pigeons there.

In short, they are in a good basic condition. The pigeons start training with enthusiasm, which forms the basis for a successful season.

Strategy and care

Jo & Florian prefer pure widowhood for the birds, which take part in difficult medium-distance flights (over 450 km) every two weeks. When they come home, they always get Mumm in their drinking water, which is given in higher doses in hot weather. This product supports the pigeons very well.

During the racing season after the race, they always get Hexenbier for about five days (since they take part every two weeks). In preparation for the flight, they also use plenty of Gervit-W and Blitzform. They have also had positive experiences with the combination of energy oil and Ro 200 ready, which is used for two or three days during the week of basketing, depending on the forecast weather conditions. As in many lofts, the pigeons are given fresh grit with anise every day, and every week, either on Monday or Tuesday, they get a treat.
