Your specialist for racing pigeons, show pigeons, poultry and rabbits
How did the year go from your point of view?
'We had a very good racing year for the older birds. We won many top prizes with few losses. The young birds changed direction (towards the SE), which ended with the season being cancelled after a difficult 4th flight.'
What changes have you made for 2023?
'Before the season, I gave 10 days of Carni-Speed together with Witches' Beer before the first free flight. This gave the pigeons even better momentum and they stayed in this form all year. Otherwise, the same program was carried out with Mifuma feed and Röhnfried products.
I made one small change: On a postponed day when I couldn't have done anything with the feed, I gave Oxyzell herbal yeast over the feed. That meant I had my four best flights in 2023 and I've included that in the supply this year!'
Which three products would you definitely not want to do without?
“Blitzform, K+K Protein 3000 and Carni-Speed are my favorites. I give Carni-Speed for at least five days and K+K Protein after light flights once or twice a day after the flight.
What are your top performers at the moment?
I have had the line from my mentor Hans-Werner Janssen for 25 years. I also got the “17-167” called “Elke” from Berg Siegburger - who has been inheriting sensationally so far. She has produced a series of first prize winners for me! In the children's generation alone there are already over 30 first prize winners. When you consider that she was only bred in 2019, that is simply sensational. The pigeon is amazing.”
What would you advise beginners?
“Few pigeons combined with good management are the secret. You should get late youngsters or eggs from top lofts in the region and then continue breeding with these pigeons.”
What would you change in the Association of German Racing Pigeon Breeders?
“In my opinion, the reintroduction of district-based and larger flights divided into zones is a step towards more fairness. In general, the community should be given priority in the breeding community.”

...and now also a member of the Röhnfried Racing Team. At 47 years old, Enrico Voigt is still one of the breeders of the younger generation. But he has also had racing pigeons since 1987, and that's 35 years. He plays in the regional association 503 in the RV hall and has been one of the lofts to beat there for years. The current racing year 2022 has far exceeded all expectations. His greatest success, however, is that he was able to win his son Linus over to pigeon racing. He will travel with him in the coming season as a loft community 'SG Linus and Enrico Voigt'.
This year I practiced total widowhood with 30 pairs. During the season, the pigeons have to train for an hour each in the morning and evening. Thursday is the so-called family day. This means that the hens and birds do their rounds together at the house and then spend a short time together in the racing loft. I do this because I cannot do any training flights due to time constraints. After that, the pigeons only see each other again when they return from the prize flight.
First of all, I have to say that I am very lucky that all of my breeding pigeons are housed with my friend Rene Hesse. This means that I can invest all of my valuable time in my racing team. We currently have 24 breeding pairs. These are often re-paired during a breeding season. The absolute core pair here is 07266-07-77 with his hen, 07266-07-118 from Gelsenkirchen. A lot of old Hofkens blood still flows through the core pair. But crosses with Dirk van Dyck pigeons have also produced very good offspring. Another breeding pillar is the female 7807-17-167. She is a real breeding pearl and comes from Bernd Siegburger from Herne.
I changed the ventilation in the racing loft by closing the windows again. Sometimes it's just small things, but they have a big effect. In addition, I only paired my racing pigeons once this year on March 8th. After the clutch had brooded, they were separated and widowhood began.
My entire supply concept has been based on Röhnfried's 7-point plan for years. This not only allows my racing pigeons to regenerate quickly, but they are also in top shape for the race and are able to achieve above-average results.
But I also have some products that I definitely don't want to do without during the race. For me, these include Blitzform, Carni-Speed and K+K Protein 3000.
Blitzform strongly stimulates the metabolism of my racing pigeons. This in turn means that they get into absolutely top shape. I don't want to do without Carni-Speed because, thanks to the regular administration of Carni-Speed, they show great joy in flying during the training phases throughout the season. When my pigeons train for a long time at home, I always have a very good feeling for the prize races. I give K+K Protein 3000 for 3 meals after a prize race. As a result, my pigeons are gaining volume again very quickly and I know that muscle building has been excellently supported.
This year, after 12 flights, I had 8 pigeons in the RV hall with 10 or more prizes. The 5641-18-634 was the best bird in the RV and 5th ace bird in the regional association with 12 prizes and 825.98 ace points. I would also like to mention the 5641-19-1075, which flies 11 prizes with 928 ace points. On our final flight of 600 km, he won the first prize in the regional group with a lead of 9 minutes. He also became 1st ace bird in the regional association. The blood of our foundation pair flows in these pigeons. As another example of the outstanding performances in 2022, I have to mention the siblings 5641-19-1037W and their brother, the '1038'. Both fly 12/11 prizes with high ace points. The '1037W' even becomes 1st ace female in the regional association 503.
