If you end the season with the title of 1st National Champion of Belgium in the yearlings category, you can speak of a great year. This championship is held over three national races in the long distance category with the 1st and 2nd named.  For the team of Serge and Kirsten, who have been among the top for more than 30 years, this is another confirmation of knowledge and professionalism. Total widowhood has been practiced here for years.

For Serge, the Röhnfried products are very important and he is proud to have been part of the Röhnfried Racing Team for more than 25 years.

The supply of Röhnfried products

In winter, the pigeons receive Avidress Plus every day. By lowering the pH to a daily level of 4.5, trichomonads cannot multiply and the infection pressure is reduced. Once a week, the racing pigeons also receive iodine, in the form of Blitzform. During the breeding phase and in preparation, the pigeons receive three days of Avidress Plus, one day of Gervit-W and two days of the mineral drink. This scheme is maintained for the young pigeons in the first month after weaning. He places particular emphasis on a balanced supply of different grit mixtures. Röhnfried's wide range of products is used here.

During the season, all racing pigeons receive the combination of Bt-Amin Forte and Mumm on the day of the flight and on Mondays. If they do not train well enough, Serge uses Blitzform for a whole week to achieve a rapid increase in form.

The right combination at the right time is the most important thing. After that, Avidress Plus and RO 200ready are added to the drinking water. For a better loft climate and to support the respiratory system of racing pigeons, Bio-Air-Fresh is used daily.

In 2022, Serge and Kirsten were “King of the Antwerp Union” (300 members) and in 2023 this tandem also scored very good results. Serge, an expert with over 30 years of experience in Belgian pigeon racing, consistently relies on the system of total widowhood. The pigeons must be trained intensively before they take part in races. Serge has been a proud part of the Röhnfried racing team for more than 25 years and greatly appreciates the products he uses.

He attaches particular importance to good digestion and therefore uses a wide range of grit mixes from Röhnfried that do not contain any baking additives or peanut flour.

Supply of Röhnfried products

Blitzform is used three days a week for both adult and young pigeons. Even the breeding pigeons receive it once a week. This also happens during moulting and in winter to ensure that the pigeons are in top condition all year round.

Bt-Amin forte is used in combination with Mumm and Rotosal when the pigeons return from their races. After hard and demanding races, he even uses it for two consecutive days.

Gervit-W, a multivitamin supplement, is on the supply plan all year round (once a week). On the other days, Avidress Plus is used in combination with UsneGano, except on the day of the moulting, when the pigeons are given pure water.

Rotosal is a must for Serge due to the high temperatures in recent years. It promotes rapid regeneration and leads to better results. It is used daily at temperatures of around 25°C.

Kirsten and Serge also have some tips:

• They use Bio-Air-Fresh on racing pigeons every day to keep their airways clear and improve the climate in the loft.
